Why Hemp?

Here at The Sustainable Sunflower, our passion is in sustainability. So when it came to choosing the material to wrap our handmade macramé jewellery, it was a no brainer that Hemp would be our first choice... by why?

•Less Water - Hemp requires half the water to grow the equivalent amount of cotton fibre.

•High Yield -  & can be harvested multiple times throughout the year.

•Less Land -as a tall plant (up to 4.5m) it takes up less land to produce the same amount of fibre as other plants.

•Soil Health - Hemp returns 60-70% of nutrients it takes back into the soil!

•Organic - Hemp requires no pesticides or herbicides.

•Durable - Hemp has some of the longest & strongest natural fibres in the world!
